Google is developing a completely new operating system, which, according to some sources, in the future will be able to replace the usual Android and Chrome OS. What is known about the mysterious development corporation and why another OS – in “gossipeveryday.com” material.
Information about the new operating system from Google surfaced quite unexpectedly – appeared on GitHub repository resource (set of files) from the source with a mysterious name “Fuchsia”. The authors of Google for some reason decided to specify that the fuchsia – a mixture of pink and purple.
Full name of the repository says, “Pink + Purple = Fuchsia (new operating system).”
Connoisseurs of origin of Google’s products attracted the attention of an interesting fact: the corporation, apparently, decided to move away from its center, which is based on the majority of products, – Linux. In particular, the most popular design companies such as Chrome OS, Android and your Chromecast, created on the basis of this core, but not the mysterious “Fuchsia”.
According to the documentation, which is also contained in the public domain, the new OS is to get two completely different kernel – LK and Magenta. The LK, or Little Kerne, serves as the foundation for small embedded devices, Magenta is, by contrast, is more suitable for today’s smartphones and computers that have powerful processors, and an impressive amount of RAM.
It is obvious that Google works hard to create a hybrid system that is based on two distinct platforms each other.
The seriousness of the corporation can also be judged from the fact that the work involved engineers, who are already making a name for himself in the world of development: Travis and Brian Gayselbret Svitlend previously worked on NewOS, BeOS, Danger, Palm webOS, and even iOS.
The name of the repository, namely, the addition of two colors, immediately gave rise to speculation that the developers are trying to “unite» Chrome OS and Android in a single operating system.Indeed, in the October 2015 edition of The Wall Street Journal reported that Android and Chrome OS are preparing to merge. According to the newspaper, the dominant position of the Android mobile operating system Google has pushed the idea that it can be adapted for use on laptops and desktops.Upon conversion of the company waited Chrome OS into something more reminiscent of the popular operating system with support for Google Play Store.
But, judging by the information that the company has decided to lay out in open access, it is unlikely it relates to hybrid previous OS.
According to most experts, the Google intends to create a qualitatively new universal axis, capable of replacing the same popular Android, or preparing for the future introduction of the devices from the “Internet of Things”.
In addition, some speculate that Google is preparing to occupy the niche in which Android proved unsuitable, – in other words, in the devices working on something resembling a Tizen.
In addition, enthusiasts, who studied the Google repository, we found out the following characteristics: “Fuchsia” appearance may well be performed within the concept of Material Design, as evidenced by the Flutter and renderer Escher user interface. In addition, a mysterious operating system supports 32-bit and 64-bit ARM-based processors and 64-bit PC processors.
Currently, Google representatives declined to comment on any information relating to the “Fuchsia”.
It is obvious that the development of the new operating system at an early stage and will require a lot of time before the company is ready to present it to the public.
It is likely that the development may remain within the technical tests. Nevertheless, there is every reason to believe that the holding of such a large-scale experiment that requires a lot of resources and time will be successful, and Google will be able to provide more perfect product, rather than though popular, but quite vulnerable Android.
